Q: How Do You Fight Blogger Fatigue?
Firstly, I don't treat it like a job. Blogging is supposed to be a fun past-time, not a chore.
Yes, sometimes it may feel overwhelming when you have review deadlines and blog tours coming up, but a simple organization can keep those things at bay. I like to count on my trusty dry-erase board and Google Calender for these things. I also set up alerts to remind me of upcoming blog thingy's that are due. I set the alert to ping me 2 weeks ahead of the due date. Also, doing up blog posts/meme's/features in advance and scheduled can take the weight off as well!
Secondly, when I start to feel that "Blogging Drag" creeping up, I take a mini vacation from blogging. I, of course do up a post informing my awesome readers that I will be gone for a couple days or a week, just to refresh and rejuvenate the blogger in me. A couple days off from blogging can do wonders! It also helps you keep things fresh, and possible inspire new feature/post ideas. I also like to dive into a book from my personal library when doing this. It gives me that time to catch up on that giant 'To Be Read' pile!
How do You fight the Blogger Fatigue?
I don't even have a busy blogging schedule like yours and I get fatigued. I usually just find that something gets missed one week - which isn't the best way to handle it. I need to stock up some guest posts for these sort of situations.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I am! I have fun with blogging. It is a release from my REAL job! But I DO unfortunately get in reading slumps sometimes. I feel like they're about the same thing.

Cathy, that's exactly what I do, take a little break and more often than not, one day is enough for me. I'm yet to really undergo a blogging slump/fatigue but I'm quite new to blogging. I find that my blogging is actually my escape and the activity that I enjoy, so I do it rather than doing all the other things I'm meant to do in life LOL I do have to find balance though.

It does get overwhelming at times, but I enjoy it so much.
ReplyDeleteI just take a tiny break, and I mean tiny...I can't stay away. Then I come right back and continue to have fun.

I think the break is super helpful! I've been battling blogger fatigue a lot this year but am so thankful to have reached a better place right now-it helps when you read some great books!
