Book Blogger Confessions

The name says it all, Book Blogger Confessions. We all have our vices, and when I come across other confession posts I am always left saying "I thought I was the only one!"

This is a sporadic post for me where I post my confessions, a rant, a what grinds my gears segment... anything! This space is going to be used to get it off my chest! Feel free to do up your own post, and if you want to share it, just link in the comments!

You do WHAT to a book?

Am I the only one that cringes when I see someone dog ear that page, or break that spine. The other say I saw someone use a beautiful copy of The Help as a coaster...A COASTER!!

Why? Why must you do this to our precious books? It's the above mentioned things that have stopped me lending my books out.

At the gym, on the bus, at the mall, restaurants and more, I see people bend the front cover all the way to the back folding the book in half, so they can read it with one hand. Why? The agony! I've had to bite my tongue many times because I don't want to sound like a complete A-hole! But I just want answers!

What are your thoughts on this horrible book Pandemic?

  1. I dog ear never. I also would never intentionally break a book spine. I don't worry about that one too much, but I would never, EVER, fold a page. That is just not right!

  2. I don't understand it. I treasure books and would never treat a book that way.

  3. When I see people dog-ear, my OCD kicks in. Seeing book covers and just the book in general damaged ticks me off!! I always want to say, "Did you abuse it?!". Wanted to share this quote with you, "A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. A man who does not read only lives one." - George RR Martin. That's my quote to live by! Hope you liked it too.

P.S. Can't wait to see your review of Eleanor and Park!!!!!!

  5. I can't stand this! I cringe when people do it to MY books and library books, however, I'm not really fussed when I see people do it in public, after all it's their books they're ruining. Having said that, I can't stand it once books are read the spine always gives some wear and tear no matter how gentle you are. It never fully closes (like when new), I hope you all understand what I'm trying to say LOL

  6. Low concentration solid dielectric compound Coach Handbags Clearance parabolic concentrator (dCPC) and its variations have been widely regarded as an attractive Coach Outlet Store solution to reduce the cost of a photovoltaic (PV) system, particularly for building integrated application. Different from a mirror CPC, Coach Outlet a dCPC allows the light beyond its acceptance angle to penetrate through Ray Ban Glasses its lateral surface. This escaped light Ray Ban Outlet could be actually used for daylighting, so the dCPC offers a potential for combined PV and daylighting application suitable for the atrium buildings or large green houses.
