Book Blogger Confessions

The name says it all, Book Blogger Confessions. We all have our vices, and when I come across other confession posts I am always left saying "I thought I was the only one!"

This is a sporadic post for me where I post my confessions, a rant, a what grinds my gears segment... anything! This space is going to be used to get it off my chest! Feel free to do up your own post, and if you want to share it, just link in the comments!

Audio books...Eek!

I want to like audio books soo badly! I am a regular at the gym, and I know they would come in so handy when I can't read a book while running. It would be grand to be able to listen to a book while driving, or outdoors catching some rays...But I just. Can't. Do. It!

I don't know if I have yet to find that audio book that draws me in. The audio books with the fabulous narrators that draw you in and make those emotions surface right out of you. Am I missing something? Is there something I should be on the lookout for when buying or downloading an audio book?

Fellow audio book listener's...HELP ME!

  1. I would definitely listen to Ellen and her version of 50 shades. I've seen this clip a few times and it cracks me up everything I watch it, haha.

I honestly don't care for audio books. I've tried several different books and it just doesn't work for me. It goes far to slow and I feel very disconnected from the characters and the story. I'm very good at concentrating at things, but the moment I turn on an audio book, my mind just wanders of.

  2. I won't be of much help, I don't listen to audioboks. A couple years ago I tried, thinking that it would do me good to practice listening. I'm an interpreter and I'm not a native speaker of English, so I really thought I would benefit from listening to audiobooks, but I can never stay focused enough. Plus sometimes I like to go back to reread chapters, I imagine that's quite inconvenient with audiobooks...
