Book Blogger Confessions

The name says it all, Book Blogger Confessions. We all have our vices, and when I come across other confession posts I am always left saying "I thought I was the only one!"

This will be a weekly(sporadic) post for me where I post my confessions, a rant, a what grinds my gears segment... anything! This space is going to be used to get it off my chest! Feel free to do up your own post, and if you want to share it, just link in the comments!

Being stuck in a reading funk

With a name like The Crazy Bookworm, you would think that I want to read all the time..Well, most of the time I do! But, from time to time I get stuck in a reading funk. No matter how hard I try, I can't gather up the motivation to pick up that novel with the bookmark sticking out half way through the book, and continue reading.

Sometimes it's because I jumped into a book to quickly after finishing an awesome read. Has that ever happened to you? You just finished that epic story, and are still reeling over those characters, that you can't get into any other book?

Book hangover

Or sometimes, it's just me. I just can't get into it! Sometimes I just don't want to read

*gasp* I know! It pains me to even say that!

Does this every happen to you? If so, what are you tips for getting out of a reading funk?

  1. Yep, totally know what you mean!!

I've started just making it a rule for myself that if about a week has gone by, and I STILL haven't gone back to the book yet, it's time to move on. I hate to leave a book unfinished - especially when it's ME and not the book's fault, lol. But sometimes the only way to get out of that funk is to just move on to something new.

  2. There's rarely a time that I don't want to read, but the problem I have is that I don't want to read the books I have. I'm often in the mood to read something, but don't know what. I came across a Sue Grafton book I haven't read so I'm happy this week.
