The Crazy Bookworm's 2013 Goals
With 2013 only hours away, the world is swirling with goals and resolutions. Weight loss, quitting smoking, travelling more, doing something adventurous..The list goes on! Us bloggers all have something in common, we have goals of our own! Goals to make blogging and reading in 2013 bigger and better than 2012!
*Read more classics: This was on last years list as well. How many classics did I read? None(sadly!) I own lots and have been dying to read so many of them. I would like to read at least one classic a month. That seems easy enough...right?
*Knock some non-review books off my TBR: My To Read pile was MASSIVE in 2012, and the majority of them were all books from authors or publishers that I needed to read and review for the blog. This year, I would like to read more of my personal library. Some titles I want to knock off:
- Twenty Boy Summer
- The Book Thief
- Before I Fall
- The Summer I turned Pretty Series
- The Mockingbirds Series
- The Hate List
- A few Jodi Picoult titles
- Anna Dressed in Blood
And as always, the list goes on!
*Kick off my Crazy Bookworm Promotions: I have finally decided to offer promotion packages for authors, and I am hoping in the New Year to have that up and running! Click here to learn more about Crazy Bookworm Promotions.
*Attend Book Events: I live just a stone's throw away from Toronto, where lots of lovely book events take place, but I never mange to get to one. I vow a change for 2013! I have missed some of my favourite authors, and I will not let that happen again. Count on seeing me at some Book Events this year!
Random Goals
*More discussion posts: I have been getting better at this over the last few months, so I hope to keep it consistant
*Wrap up posts: I used to include a wrap up in my Stacking The Shelves post but for some reason stopped...I love reading other bloggers weekly wrap ups, so I will bring back my weekly wrap ups to my mailbox posts.
*Read 'Banned' Books: I came across this lovely post on Pinterest listing all of the banned books. Some I have read already and can't believe they are even on the list! Some have been on my TBR for a while, so I hope to cross this one off the list!
*Audiobooks: I go to the gym 4-6 times a week, and always bring a book with me. The downside to that is I can only read my book on certain equipment. It's tough to jog on the treadmill while trying to keep a paperback open! I do have the Kindle App on my phone, but sometimes it's hard to concentrate on that as well. So I would like to invest in some audiobooks to listen to while getting my sweat on!
*Participate in NaNoWrimo: I participated in this in 2011 and had a blast! I didn't have time to take part in 2012 but no matter how busy my schedule this year, I will make time for NaNoWrimo!
*Finish my Zombie Fiction Novel: I have already completed my Young Adult novel and will be sending it out to an author friend for editing soon(which is both scary and exciting!) but I have a Zombie novel that I have just loved writing but thanks to life getting in the way, haven't had much time to devote to it. I will set aside at least 2-3 hours a week to work on it!
Those are my goals this year! I hope I can do a recap post at the end of 2013 showing all of these crossed off! What are your blogging and/or reading resolutions?
I LOVE audiobooks at the gym as well. I can't listen while I'm running (I'm too busy saying "thissucksthissucksthissucks") but I love it while cycling! I'm totally intrigued by your zombie novel!
ReplyDeleteHa! I have tons of the same books on my carryover TBR! Glad I'm not alone!!!!
ReplyDeleteI intended to read more classics this year and only got half way through David Copperfield. Hope you have a wonderful reading year in 2013. Audio books is a good idea while working out.

Today, while I was at work, my cousin stole my iPad and tested to see if it can survive a twenty five foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now broken and she has 83 views. I know this is completely off topic but I had to share it with someone! web design firm
