Out of sight, out of their minds: It's a school-trip splatter fest and completely not cool when the other kids in her class go all braindead on new girl Bobby.

The day of the ski trip, when the bus comes to a stop at a roadside restaurant, everyone gets off and heads in for lunch. Everyone, that is, except Bobby, the new girl, who stays behind with rebel-without-a-clue Smitty.

Then hours pass. Snow piles up. Sun goes down. Bobby and Smitty start to flirt. Start to stress. Till finally they see the other kids stumbling back.

But they've changed. And not in a good way. Straight up, they're zombies. So the wheels on the bus better go round and round freakin' fast, because that's the only thing keeping Bobby and Smitty from becoming their classmates' next meal. It's kill or be killed in these hunger games, heads are gonna roll, and homework is most definitely gonna be late.
“Alice's face widens in horror. I left my candy Coture bag on the table!' 'Oh, the tragedy! Smitty joins in, girlying it up. The dead people might be.... touching it!” -Alice .

Alright, I'm sure by know you know why I initially wanted to read this novel..Yes, the Zombies. I went into this novel with my usual zombie expectations, but Undead was so much more fun!

Firstly, it was hilarious. There were so many laugh out loud moments. It was a blast reading this book in the public. What people see: Bloody and gory cover with girl wielding an axe. Yes, it looks like a horror novel. What they see me doing: Laughing, giggling and smiling. Strangers probably thought I was some twisted soul!

Every. Single. Character had something epic to add to this storyline. Smitty, although completely raunchy at times, was totally swoon-worthy. I couldn't help loving him! Alice, a typical rich girl that has absolutely ZERO survival skills, and was written probably just to drive you crazy. Yet, I couldn't help falling in love with her either. And of course, our main zombie arse kicking chick, bobby. Who knows how to use a snowboard very creatively! I loved the entire character cast! To me, there was no main character. Everyone was equally portrayed in this novel.

Kirsty McKay sure packed a whole whack of punch in her debut novel, Undead. It was just perfect! Action-packed, thrilling, gory and hilarious. I have never had such a blast reading not only a zombie novel, but any novel in general. One of my favourite reading experiences to date!

I can't wait to get my hands on book #2 in the series!

In three words: Bloody, gory and awesome sauce!
