When you can see things others can't, what do you do when someone's watching you?

Everybody knows about Clarity "Clare" Fern. She's the psychic girl in school, the one who can place her hands on something and see hidden visions from the past.

Only Clare would rather not be a celebrity. She prefers hanging back, observing. Her gift is not a game to her.

But then someone starts playing with her head . . . and heart. Messages and gifts from a secret admirer crop up everywhere Clare turns. Could they be from Gabriel, the gorgeous boy who gets Clare's pulse racing? Or from Justin, Clare's hopeful ex-boyfriend who'd do anything to win her back?

One thing is certain. Clare needs to solve this mystery, and soon. Because the messages are becoming sinister, and a girl in town has suddenly disappeared.

"I thought I heard someone say my name, in almost a whisper. Just one little innocent word, but it was said with almost a teasing venom. My nerves prickled as I felt the now familiar sensation of being watched"- Clare Fern

I absolutely adored Clairty. Kim Harrington debuted her YA novel with a bang. I fell in love with Clare instantly. The wait for book two was a grueling one, but it was soo worth the wait!

I anxiously awaited Clare Fern's return! When I finally had the book in my hands, I immediately got sucked back into her mystical world. I have come across some books where the sequels don't live up to their predecessors but this was not the case for Perception. Kim Harrington packed so much punch into this novel. I found myself running late for almost everything because I just wanted to read one more chapter. The author ended each chapter with such a luring cliffhanger that is was darn near impossible to put the book down. 288 pages seems like a quick read, but for 280 pages your heart will be pounding. Your eyes flying through the pages, racing to the end so you can finally find out the last piece of the puzzle.

I didn't doubt for one minute that I wouldn't like Perception, in fact I knew I would love it. The characters Kim Harrington created are so lovely that you can't help but love them. You want to revisit them, learn more about them. I love the relationship between Clare and her family, their hilarious banter. It reminds me a lot of my family...Although we don't have any awesome powers.

Perception was a lovely addition to the series. A heart-pounding novel involving supernatural gifts, romance and suspense...A recipe for success.!

The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the long wait for Book #3!

Last impression: A book for all bookworms. Perception has something for everyone!

  1. I'll look out for this. Sounds like a good read.

  2. I love it when subsequent books in a series are as good as the book I've fallen in love with. I haven't started this series but I'll keep my eye out.

  3. Glad to hear that this sequel is superior to the first book; that does not happen nearly enough and it makes me so excited to pick this up and enjoy it for myself!
