What's Happened to Me?
Sarah finds herself in a strange place, and she can recall only one thing—her name. A young man, Heath de Charon, explains to Sarah that he found her unconscious on the grounds of his family's estate and has been caring for her. Sarah is thankful, but when she starts hearing voices that whisper for her to come back, she is confused, and desperate to find out where she really belongs.

When the Clock Chimes

Drake Iverson lands a summer job on Sandstone Mountain. There are no computers; he has to do all the work by hand in a large leather-bound book. He doesn't mind, as long as he can be near Gina, who is pretty and kind. But when Gina falls ill, Drake is asked to leave. He is determined to find out what happened to Gina and to uncover other mysteries he encounters on Sandstone Mountain.

The Mysteries of Chance

Dylan Sorenson offers his help to a girl who seems to be in distress. The girl, Maura, explains that she's simply overwhelmed by the heat and quickly runs off. But Maura is soon drawn back to Dylan and a friendship and budding romance begins. However, Maura doesn't reveal the whole truth about herself, and Dylan has secrets of his own. Can their relationship withstand the deception?

I am no stranger when it comes to Lurlene McDaniel's books. She has always been known to have me reaching for the Kleenex box, and cleaning up balled tissues. Having loved her last novella collection True Love I couldn't wait to get my hands on Reaching Through Time.
I love novels about time travel, and I love romance, put those two together and I am a very happy reader! Lurlene McDaniel plucked me from my deck chair and planted me into the middle of all 3 stories she penned. Her beautifully crafted stories surrounded me, and I felt as if  I was lurking in the background watching the characters story's unfold with my own two eyes. Since Reaching Through Time consists of 3 very different story's, I will break each one down.
What's Happened to Me?- This story had a very creepy element about it. I don't know exactly what it was, but whenever the surroundings were described, or when Heath was in the picture, I couldn't hide the goosebumps that crept up on my arms. Sarah wakes up completely unaware of her surroundings, and can only recall her name. Amnesia. The person who found her, Heath explains that she was unconscious on his property and he took her in and is taking care of her. Living in a dark(no electricity) castle with a strange, handsome man made Sarah uneasy at times. But slowly grew comfortable, until her memory starts to resurface. This story gave me the perfect mix of mystery and suspense. I easily flew through the pages, eager to reveal the outcome.
When the Clock Chimes- This was my favourite story out of the three. At first it wasn't easy for me to connect with the main character, Drake. But that quickly changed as the story progressed. Drake suffers from CP and always having to brunt the banter at school because of his limp, he has just learned to deal with it. But when he starts his summer job, working for a professor, he meets his daughter, Gina. Gina and Drake immediately strike a connection and their relationship blossoms beautifully through out the story. This story delivered all of Lurlene's classic elements. Romance, Mystery, and Heart-Break. As the story unfolded, I was left jaw-dropped. I was not expecting that ending! And of course, I was cleaning up balled up tissue by the end.
The Mysteries of Chance- I almost loved this one as much as the previous. This one takes place during the present time. Maura is a time traveler. She illegally travelled 115 years in the past(our present) from the future. She ends up meeting Dylan. On the outside, an average teenage boy. On the inside, broken hearted. I can't really go into to much detail about this one without giving to much away. But this story is another that left me flying through the pages. I connected with Dylan and Maura right away and was left wanting so much more when their story ended. I hope McDaniel makes a return with these characters.
All three stories had so much to offer. Mystery, romance, suspense with a little touch of paranormal. They were all a blast to read. Lurlene McDaniel penned each story in a way where I was able to get into each one right away, when the story was done, I was left satisfied. Reaching Through Time was a great read.
