Hoppin' Time!
Question of the Week:. Talk about the book that most changed or influenced your life (was it a book that turned you from an average to avid reader, did it help you deal with a particularly difficult situation, does it bring you comfort every time you read it?).
What a great question! It was the Twilight Saga that re-introduced my love for reading. Also, any book by Jodi Picoult pretty much changes my opinion about something. She is so raw and realistic that she makes your sympathize for the "bad guy" For example, her book Nineteen Minutes that is about a high school shooting, or her book Change of Heart that made me sympathize with a "murderer". She is a fantastic author!
Hosted by Crazy-For-Books Question of the Week: “What is the one ARC you would love to get your hands on right now?” The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks! I loved his novels, and can't wait to read his newest that comes out in October.
Hosted by the awesome Ginger at GReads. If you haven't checked out her blog yet, Go now! Question of the Week: Taking it Personal: Which books have effected you on a personal level and lingered in your mind long after you closed the pages?
Another great question! There are a few that I have but I'll keep it to my top 3!
#1-Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly(YA). That book left me in complete awe. I think I went through a whole box of Kleenex while reading it too. It became my all time favourite book. I am actually fighting the urge to re-read it again. You can read my thoughts on that book HERE.
#2 is Finding Jack by Garreth Crocker(Fiction). If you are you a dog lover, you have to read this book! The story is fictional but the concept is 100% true. It is a novel that shouldn't be missed. You can read my thoughts HERE.
#3 Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys(YA). This was one of the most heart-wrenching stories I have ever read. It is raw and very emotional. It takes place during Stalin's Reign of World War 2. The characters are fictional but the horrors described are very real. Although the story is very heart-wrenching at times. There is a beauty that shines through. A must read! I read all of Sparks' novels even though they are all kind of the same story line, I just cannot help it. I didn't realize he had another one coming out again. I will have to add it to my list.
