Will Elise’s love life be an epic win or an epic fail?

At Coral Tree Prep in Los Angeles, who your parents are can make or break you. Case in point:
As the son of Hollywood royalty, Derek Edwards is pretty much prince of the school—not that he deigns to acknowledge many of his loyal subjects.

As the daughter of the new principal, Elise Benton isn’t exactly on everyone’s must-sit-next-to-at-lunch list.

When Elise’s beautiful sister catches the eye of the prince’s best friend, Elise gets to spend a lot of time with Derek, making her the envy of every girl on campus. Except she refuses to fall for any of his rare smiles and instead warms up to his enemy, the surprisingly charming social outcast Webster Grant. But in this hilarious tale of fitting in and flirting, not all snubs are undeserved, not all celebrity brats are bratty, and pride and prejudice can get in the way of true love for only so long.

Epic Fail is everything I love about Summer Reading. It was light, hilarious and had one of my favourite things, romance!

This is Claire Lazebnik's debut into the Young Adult world, and I think she delivered a fantastic introduction that will leave her readers wanting so much more. Epic Fail is a retelling of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Now I can't compare the storyline or the characters because I have yet to read the classic novel, but that didn't change anything for me. Epic Fail was a blast to read, and impossible to put down. The author created a fantastic character cast in Elise, Julianna, Chase and Derek. Their story's flowed beautifully throughout the entire novel, making you eager to fly through the pages and find out what will happen next. Claire LaZebnik also put just as much effort into her secondary cast. Every character in the novel had something to offer the story, and it all made for an great read!

Claire LaZebnik joined the YA genre with a bang! Epic Fail was an Epic Win. It's hard to find the perfect balance between plot and characters but the author pulled that off perfectly. Great, realistic characters with a thrilling storyline.

First impression: Great cover! Sounds like a fun read

Last impression: A book that shouldn't be missed. A real gem!
