Blog Survey = New features at The Crazy Bookworm

Hi Everyone!

First off, let me take a moment to thank everyone who filled out The Crazy Bookworm blog survey. The survey is still open, so to readers that would like to check out it, click here. All feedback is welcome and appreciated!

The Crazy Bookworm wouldn't be what it is without you guys, so I strive to keep my blog a place you guys enjoy coming too. I got some wonderful feedback from the survey, and everyone was so nice! All your kind words and compliments have been taken to heart. And all of your great suggestions have been taken into consideration. I got a lot of feedback about the blog being more "blogger to blogger" interactive so bloggers can interact with each other more on the blog. Obviously, those are wonderful suggestions, ones that I am happy to work on to make this blog a more interactive blog for you guys. As a result of that, I have thought of 3 New Features.

Feature #1
The Book Panel
This feature will take place once a month, hosted here at The Crazy Bookworm. It will be a free(no sign up required) chat, where fellow bookworms can come and chat together about all the great books they've read during that month. We will share recommendations, talk characters, plots, etc. We can even talk about T.V/Movies adaptations of books(i.e. True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, The Hunger Games, etc) Anything book related! And the chat is open to all genre's, not just YA. The chats will take place in eastern time, so to all the international readers, please check your timezones to get the correct chat time for you.

Feature #2
Journey's Across the Blogiverse
This is a feature that will list the other blogs I have discovered during that month. I'm still deciding on the post frequency but it will either be a Bi-weekly post or a once-a-month post. I discover all kinds of great book blogs all the time(old and young). Whether it's from blog hops, meme's or just surfing the Internet. What better way to share these blogs than with you? It will bring attention to new blogs, and older blogs can welcome new visitors. There will be no entry form to submit your blog to be a a part of the post. This feature is to just simply share the newly discovered blogs I came across during that month. But you are more than welcome to comment on the posts with your blog link for me and my readers to check out! Also if you have discovered a great blog that you want to share, feel free to leave a link in the post's comment section!

Feature #3
And Then...
I'm really excited about this feature, and I hope you will be too! First off, I want to say that this is meant to be a fun feature. You don't have to be a writer or an aspiring one. This is welcome to everyone. It can be silly, serious, funny, or weird...Even a little crazy. And Then... is a feature that will publish a short story once a month(or bi-weekly. Depending on popularity) created by me and YOU GUYS! Once a month, I will do a post with the start of a story, and then it is up to you to finish the rest of it. At the end of the month I will publish our work of art :)

For example: Kelly was never the type of girl to get excited because she was used to things not going her way. But when she saw Cole, the only guy she has ever had eyes for at the same party, walking her way, she couldn't help but get a little excited....

Now that example was just off the top of my head, but you can see where I'm going with this. I ended my part, so it is up to you finish the next paragraph. Please do not feel the need to stick with the topic I start with. The story could start off like a princess fairytale but end with a crazy Zompire(Zombie+vampire). Remember, this is supposed to be fun and interactive! Now of course, to keep things simple for you and under control there will be guidelines.

  • Submissions must be a minimum of 80 words and a maximum of 150.  Please don't feel the need to sit there at the computer and count your words. Just as long as your submission is at least a paragraph, that is perfectly fine!
  • To add your part of the story, just simply click on the comments and read along to see where the story is heading, then add your own paragraph.
  • Open to everyone! Anyone can submit a paragraph. If you are uncomfortable with posting as yourself, you can post as anonymous. Just select 'Anonymous' in the comment box.
  • Light sexual content is okay. Please keep in mind that teenagers as young as 13 and 14 read this blog, so I ask that it is kept light.
  • No vulgar language.
  • You do not have to stick to one genre, if you have a great idea that changes it up, and flows with the story then please type away!
Also, please feel free to submit a 'story opening' for the next story. Sound like a fun feature?

I'm hoping all these features will allow everyone to interact a lot more together. I'm looking forward to hearing all your thoughts on these new features. Thanks for all the great feedback!
