Abby accepted that she can’t measure up to her beautiful, magnetic sister Tess a long time ago, and knows exactly what she is: Second best. Invisible.
Until the accident.

Now Tess is in a coma, and Abby’s life is on hold. It may have been hard living with Tess, but it's nothing compared to living without her.

She's got a plan to bring Tess back though, involving the gorgeous and mysterious Eli, but then Abby learns something about Tess, something that was always there, but that she’d never seen.

Abby is about to find out that truth isn't always what you think it is, and that life holds more than she ever thought it could...

"...sometimes, you have to break your own heart."

This is my first book by Elizabeth Scott...I know, I know! Horrible right? I have heard countless amazing things about her books. So I was obviously very eager to begin this book.

Between Here and Forever was a very emotional read for me. It made me cry, laugh and shake my head in frustration. Abby was a great character but I didn't start liking her until the middle/end of the book. She was very self-loathing, constantly putting herself down. She would even mutter remarks to herself about being ugly or stupid. I found it a little over the top at times. However, as the book unfolded, and as Tess's story was revealed, I bonded with Abby. She went through a transformation of sorts, but that's all I will say. Character development is the main focus in this book, each character has a great back story. It made the book a compelling read.

I am officially hooked by Elizabeth Scott. Her writing style is simple, yet has a lyrical flow to it. Her well crafted characters added so much depth to Between Here and Forever. Claire, Eli and Clement all being favourite characters of mine.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Elizabeth Scott, and to anyone that is looking to pick up one of her books. A perfect introduction to a wonderful author.

  2. Wow! I think I've heard of this book but never really looked into it. The way you put it, it sounds like a book I can like! I will have to see if my library has this, cause this will be added onto my goodreads summer 2013 to read list! Thanks for reviewing it. (:
