A thrilling tale of adventure, romance, and one girl's unyielding courage through the darkest of nightmares.
Epidemics, floods, droughts--for sixteen-year-old Lucy, the end of the world came and went, taking 99% of the population with it. As the weather continues to rage out of control, and Sweepers clean the streets of plague victims, Lucy survives alone in the wilds of Central Park. But when she's rescued from a pack of hunting dogs by a mysterious boy named Aidan, she reluctantly realizes she can't continue on her own. She joins his band of survivors, yet, a new danger awaits her: the Sweepers are looking for her. There's something special about Lucy, and they will stop at nothing to have her.

I have to say that I loved this book! I'm still fairly new to the dystopian/post apocalyptic genre so I went into this book open-minded, but it just left me wanting more!

Ashes, Ashes was a very visually intense book. The author did a fantastic job at creating a thrilling adventure. Lucy lived just like most teenagers, but when the plague wiped out most of the population, she was forced into a dark "world", where survival was a struggle.

I found the book to be very realistic, from the geographical aspect, right down to how the characters acted and reacted. The book comes to life off the pages as you are reading. It unfolds like a film in your head. The author planted me right in the centre of this disaster and pulled me along for the ride. The entire time I felt as if I was right there with Lucy.

Of course I especially loved the spark of romance thrown into the novel. I thought the way the author introduced it was perfect, and Lucy and Aiden's relationship flowed beautifully through out the book.

Ashes, Ashes was an action-packed, thrilling page turner. Fans of dystopian will definitely love novel, and if your new to the genre like I still am, this is a perfect book to start with!
