Hoppin' away/Follow Friday

Book Blogger Hop
Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jennifer over at Crazy for Books.

Question of the Week: "What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?"

My answer is very close to Jennifers. Like her, it's the premise that makes me pick up the book. But once reading it if the characters are boring or lacking personality then I tend to lose interest very quickly.

Question of the Week: What did you study in college, or are currently studying and did it lead to your current 9 to 5 or are you doing something totally different?

Great question! After high school I took some time off because I didn't know what I wanted to do, then I decided to become a vet assistant...Halfway through that I dropped out, I own 3 dogs and I knew after starting that I wouldn't be able to handle seeing animals in any kind of pain or discomfort. So I got a job at a Dog grooming shop and ended up loving it! I went to school for dog grooming and I now run my very own Pet Spa out of my home.

You know I love those comments so keep em' coming! And leave your link so I can follow back :-)

Happy Holidays!!

I'm dropping by from the hop and of course, I'm an old follower! I don't think I told you yet how I love your Christmas look for your blog... it's soooo cute!!

And it's great to see that you take so much joy out of your job. I wouldn't have wanted to see animals in pain either...

Hope you have a great weekend! :)

  8. Old follower hopping by :)

Grooming is tough! I have one of those dogs you'd dread getting an appointment with. She does NOT like going to the groomer.

Hope you have a nice weekend!

  9. I did not go to college, and I am currently retired. I worked for over 15 years in the secretarial division of Emery Air Freight in the 1960s and 1970s. I was a stay-at-home mom for the 1980s and 1990s, and now I am helping my daughter with her business, Tribute Books as the volunteer office manager.

  12. This might be the best Book Blogger Hop question I've seen to date.

So what's the answer? Plot! Hop over to my blog and let me tell you how a good plot rescued bad characters from bad book oblivion.

  14. Interesting ... I went to school as a zoology major to become a vet but changed my mind for similar reasons ... now I work on computers ...

For the BBH question ... I think the character plays a very strong role in a book and here is my answer.

  16. I agree with you the synopsis is what pulls me in but the characters are what make me want to keep reading.

It's funny you mention dog-grooming my friend works at petsmart, but she's told me she wants to go on her own and do it.

  23. Thanks for dropping by my blog! I can totally understand how being a vet assistant could be difficult, especially since you have pets yourself. But it sounds like the pet spa thing worked out!
