Question of the Week: If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?
Yes! I always read a series in order. I won't review a series out of order either. If I am asked to review a book in a series, I will ask for the previous books in the series.

Question of the Week: What is your monthly book budget?
Mine book budget is about $50-$75 a month. Some months I spend less and others I spend more. It really depends, but I don't like to spend for than $75 a month.

Dropping by via the hop! I'm a new follower :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a pretty big budget if you ask me. Mine's just $30, sometimes less if I don't have enough money.
My Follow Friday post for this week.
Hopping through and following you now!
ReplyDeleteI try to keep my book budget really low. I'm really blessed that I get a lot of free books through websites I review for.
I love your budget, I sometimes buy that much myself, but not every month. I also love your blog and am now a new follower. Hope you hop over and check mine out too. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHey! I'm an old follower just stopping by on the hop to wish you a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteFinally! Someone with a book budget over $50. You just made me feel better about mine! I was getting a little worried after reading everyone's answers. Mines anything under $100.

Ah! I really should make a budget! But at least you know your limits - that's always good :) Anyway, old follower here. Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIf you get a chance, check out my blog :)

Yup, I spend about the same, and I wouldn't say I hate when I go over my budget, but my wallet does. LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy FF!
Tentatively hopping over, as this is our first ever Hop… Amazing design. Our budget has a tendency to fluctuate from month to month, but averages $30.

ReplyDeleteI also feel the need to read series in order. Just a little type-A complex of mine :D Old follower hopping by :)
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of Marilyn MOnroe reading. Such a young Marilyn too.
ReplyDeleteI don't pay much attention to what I spend. Lately it hasn't been bad. Contests and ARCs and NetGalley are keeping me supplied.
One of the first books I reviewed with Net Galley was Tyger Tyger and it's author, Kersten Hamilton, is guest posting and doing a giveaway at my blog today and the giveaway will go through Sunday. The book comes out on Monday! And, it is one of my favorite books this year. Come by/

I'm a new follower! *waving* Hi! Hopping around today. Love the blog. You can find me here http://blog.juliealindsey.com/
ReplyDeleteI can dive right into the middle of a book series if the series' story
ReplyDeletedoesn't run chronologically.
That is to say, if each novel in a series is a stand-alone story (like Lee
Child's Reacher novels) then I don't feel the need to start with book one.
On the other hand, a series of books (like Richard Hatch's Battlestar
Galactica novels) can't be read out of sequence since each new book builds
upon the story of the previous entry in the series.
Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

I'm the same way -- I really have to read a series in order. It's confusing to me to read out of order even if the series is can be read that way.
