  1. Hopped in, I'm a new follower. What a GREAT header!

  2. One of the spookiest real life experiences was after my dad died. He died of Lou Gherig's disease, long and miserable, and driving me nuts as a kid. He was selfish, and wanted to drag all of us with him, and threatened to haunt us.

    After he died, he did.

Toward the end of the disease, he was chair-bound, stuck in his room, while my brother and I were out playing, growing, all the things he couldn't be part of.

He wouldn't let us go, and came back. His ghost would stand in the doorway of his bedroom and just glare. Glare glare glare. Getting up in the middle of the night, I'd be unable to walk down the hallway because of how much malevolence he gave off. He couldn't do much more than stare and make me feel frightened, but thirteen year old me didn't know that.

It was pretty terrifying to be young, having always been aware of ghosts, but still have no power to do anything about them. I finally had to just keep tell myself and him that he couldn't hurt me. After about a year, he stopped.
