(Summary from Amazon)
My Thoughts: Poor Rich was the perfect title for this book, with some of the situations Rich was put it I couldn't help shaking my head speaking those same words "Poor Rich". Rich Cameron was isolated for most of his life, severe allergies locking him into his own little world, but when puberty hit his allergies miraculously cleared up and he was set to embark a whole new life. Basketball, Swimming, Golf, Girls are only a few things that Rich gets acquainted with in his new life.
The main story was a great introduction to Rich. The author did a lovely job with the character development, I fell in love not only with Rich but with the secondary characters as well, like Brian, Gia, Huey and Nana just to name a few. Jean Blasiar really pulls you into Rich's world, you feel like your right there with him, experiencing every funny and uncomfortable moment with him. I loved the compilation of short stories, they were so well written. Each one took you to a new place, some magical, some scary, others happy and sad, but I enjoyed every single one. My personal favourites were "On The Way to Covent Gardens", "The Veil", "The Plan" and "Beaters". Every short story introduced Rich in a new light, he shares all sides, feelings and thoughts. I loved the little brief introduction into each story, it explains where Rich was at, what stage of life he was in when he wrote it. I didn't think I was going to enjoy this book as much as I did. There is a sequel coming out and I can't wait to get another peek into Rich Cameron's world.
