Book Ban

How Big is your "To Be Read" Pile. I had a good look at mine, and since January of this year I have accumulated 18 books that I have not read yet. That is not even half as close to my book pile I had last year but I am still going to put myself on a Book Ban until I read at least a minimum of 5 of those books. I am such a sucker for Book Stores, in every form they come in, Thrift Shops, Used Books, Book sections in Grocery Stores... If It has books, I'm there. So starting after the book I am currently reading I am not going to spend one dime on a new book until I complete 5 of the ones I have piling up now. This will be hard for me, but I think I can do it...I Think

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner Book Review

Author:Stephenie Meyer Fans of The Twilight Saga will be enthralled by this riveting story of Bree Tanner, a character first introduced in Eclipse, and the darker side of the newborn vampire world she inhabits. In another irresistible combination of danger, mystery, and romance, Stephenie Meyer tells the devastating story of Bree and the newborn army as they prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens, following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion.(From the Publisher) I was really unsure about getting this book, and wasn't really interested in reading it, But as I was strolling through the superstore I saw it for 40% off and I just couldn't resist, I thought for that price "why not give it a shot" Having said that, I was pleasently surprised with this book. It was a wonderful look at everything that happened behind that scenes. It filled in some blanks that some may have had while reading Eclipse. This is a bittersweet story, although we know the tragic end to Bree's Life, You can't help but fall in love with her, and root for her, I was hoping for a different ending even though I knew that wasn't going to happen. Stephenie Meyer has proved herself to be an author that writes about strong, powerful love, and she did that again with this Book. Bree and Diego had a strong connection that you notice almost instantly. I would recommend this book to fans of the Twilight Saga. It is a quick read, but a worthy one.I Give this book Happy Reading!

The Karate Kid Movie Review

Directed By: Harold Zwart Starring: Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith Running Time: 140 Minutes It seems we are in the era of remake's. The Karate Kid being one of them. The original came out in 1984 and was a huge success and launched Ralph Macchio's acting career. When I heard they were making a remake to this movie I wasn't thrilled, then I found out that it wasn't going to be based on the art of Karate, but instead the Art of Kung Fu, I didn't think it was going to go over well. With that said, I was proved completely wrong. I thought this movie was fantastic. I Loved the storyline of it, almost a little more than the original. Jaden Smith was wonderful, and I can already see that he is going to be a wonderful actor when he gets older. Through out the film you can't help notice the likeness between him and his famous father, Will Smith. The two are very alike, and it was made clear in this film that Jaden inherited his fathers talents. This was a different ball game for Jackie Chan, We are used to him showing off his great Martial arts skills in his movies, but with "The Karate Kid" he took a step back and focused more on the teaching of Kung Fu so we really got to see his acting skills shine. I Think this role was perfect for Jackie Chan, Playing the Mentor was as a much as a treat for us as I'm sure it was for Jaden, and I think Jackie Chan gained a wider audience from this movie. This Movie has something for everyone, You'll Laugh and You'll Cry, and You'll leave the theatre wanting to Kick some Butt. One of the better remake's of a movie I have seen in a long time.I Give this

Beastly By Alex Flinn Book Review

Beastly Is a beautiful story, A Modern day Beauty and The Beast. The Book is about Kyle Kingsbury, a 16 year old highschool student who seems to have it all, The Looks, Popularity, Money, But what he doesn't have is a kind heart. Kyle would go out of his way to humiliate and tease the "average" or "Less than average" kids at his school. But someone is watching, A witch. Someone who sees the error of his ways and decides to teach Kyle a lesson. One Night Kyle has a confrontation with this witch, Bad Idea. She casts a spell on Kyle that turns him into a beast, He will be as ugly on the outside as he is on the inside. He has 2 years to find someone to love him for who he is on the inside, and accept him for who and what he is on the outside and seal it with a kiss for the curse to be broken. Throughout the whole book you notice a big transformation in kyle. The author really did a wonderful job on the character development of this book. It is one of the best adaptations of "The Beauty and the Beast" tale I've ever read. You will laugh and cry. I read this book in one day, I couldn't put it down. I was eager to find out if Kyle would find his true love and get his kiss. It was a wonderful story and I would recommend it to anyone. I Give this books Happy Reading!

House Rules-Jodi Picoult Book Review

This is the Newest Book by Jodi Picoult. This Book just proved even more what an amazing author picoult is, and why her books always land on the "Best-Sellers" list. I love Picoult's style of writing, Every character speaks, and you get to learn all sides of the story. Emma Hunt is a hard working, single mother, just barely making ends meet for her family. Emma has 2 Sons, 15 year old, Theo, and 18 year old, Jacob who has Aspergers Syndrom. Jacob has a strong passion for Forensic Science, and loves staging make-belief crime scenes to see if his mother can crack the cases. Jacob even owns a police scanner and can't help but arrive to crime scenes uninvited trying to help the police solve the crime. But one dark day on January 12, 2010, the small town of Townsend is rattled with the murder of Jess Ogilvy, a young college student, and it doesn't take long for the police to turn to Jacob but not for his help...For his arrest. Jacob is now being accused and sent to trial for her murder. Did he Do it? The outcome leaves the Hunt family with answers they never would have imagined. This book had me hooked from beginning to end. I couldn't put it down, and Each new phase of the book is more intense then the last. Jodi Picoult blew me away with "House Rules" It is full of emotion, and strangely enough, Comedy. This book had a great twist, something that is a trademark with picoult. I loved House Rules, and I would recommend it to anyone. I give this Book
